Massage therapy is a healing modality that complements chiropractic care by working to release tension and spasm in the muscles, improving lymphatic drainage and blood circulation, and restoring a state of calmness to the body. Research has demonstrated that patients suffering from depression, anxiety, and post partum symptoms benefit from regular massage sessions due to the stress relieving properties of massage.
Masssage therapists are trained in different techniques and they are able to determine the type of massage necessary based on the patients symptoms and needs. At PureBalance our massage therapists are trained to work with both acute and chronic pain conditions, as well as, stress relief techniques.
Types of Massage
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing style of bodywork. An array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion are used. Benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body and enhanced mental clarity.
Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing trigger points or “knots” which may refer pain to other regions in your body and are built up due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied to release your trigger points.
Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries.
Myofascial massage is a technique used to treat injuries and discomfort, reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Fascia completely encases every muscle in the body so imbalances in the fascia can affect your range of motion and comfort level.
Craniosacral Therapy techniques involve a light-touch method of manipulating the body’s cerebrospinal fluid, which surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord, in order to improve the function of the central nervous system, reduce the negative effects of stress, and enhance overall health.
